Management of Post Orthodontic Treatment Recessions with the use of Connective Tissue Graft

A step by step approach using the Tunneling Technique

Orthodontic treatment in thin phenotype cases may contribute to the development or the deterioration of pre-existing recessions. The use of connective tissue graft is a great therapeutic approach for their treatment since many years ago. Using the tunneling technique one of the most critical factors is the insertion of the graft in the tunnel with the use of positioning sutures. Additionally the use of vertical double-crossed sutures can optimize the therapeutic outcome.
